Cleaning Your House

Cleaning your house is very important. It says a lot about a young lady. Keeping the space around you clean and straight not only reflects the person you are inside it also helps nourish you from the inside out. Which lightens your moods and allows you to relax.

Young ladies if not taught how to clean properly tend to let things go one at a time until everything is a total wreck and then you take the whole weekend to get it back under control. That makes it even more unlikely for you to keep it up and begins a habit that is overwhelming and breeds procrastination.

To clean without exhaustion all you need are a few good tools to get you on the road to an easy, quick, thorough cleaning of your home. Start with getting a plastic container - one that carries all of your cleaning supplies (i.e., glass and all purpose cleaner, furniture polish, rags, air fresheners, sponges for each room, bathroom cleaner, carpet freshener or floor polish, pine sol). There are some other items you may want to purchase - such as a broom, mop bucket, trash bags, scrubber, vacuum, carpet shampooer, or floor polisher, a duster with an extension, paper towels and some rubber gloves, bandanna scarf).

Once you get your plastic storage container with all of your supplies, dedicate this time for you and your house to get intimate. Yes, intimate - get down where the dirty is and get it out. Make this an enjoyable task by adding some uplifting music. Put on your bandanna to keep your hair from the dust and dirt flying around and start in room one. That's the living room. Most of us have a couch, chairs, tv, etc. You will want to start with the dusting first as when you begin to polish and dust - the dust will fall to the floor and when you are done with the dusting, cleaning the windows, and glass items you will want to save the vacuuming or floor cleaning/polishing for last as you work your way out of the room. Glass is best cleaned with newspaper - and no the ink does not get on the glass when you wipe it off. It helps to keep the glass streak free and sparkling. A little febreze on the pillows and couch sitting areas keep the "musty" smells at a minimum until you have them shampooed.

Bedrooms - all linens should be stripped off the bed each weekend. Saturday is our day when all cleaning gets done. Earlier the better. The sooner you start the sooner you end and you still have the rest of the day to do what you like and enjoy and if your plans include entertaining - well your place is the best place to do it - as it's CLEAN and you feel good showing off your hard work.

Wash your bedding in your regular detergent of choice, but, a few tips on making a nice bed is to buy a good quality sheet set 200-300 thread count makes a really nice comfy bed and when drying your sheets you can put in an old "CLEAN" shoe to roll around in there with it making it fluffier adds that special touch. Sometimes we can't get the comforter to the laundry each week - so I would recommend spraying a little febreze on it and if you can let it get some outside air. Nothing is more fresh than to smell fresh sheets and comforter with the airs from the outside breeze.

Do the same in the bedroom as you did in the living room - dust, clean all glass with newspaper, change the sheets, wash them, spray down the comforter and put up your clothes for next week. I suggest that if you hang up all your clothing items - by matching your work outfits - your hang out outfits - it will make getting ready - at the last minute - a blast and you will not be left out when it comes to the last minute invites. Vacuum lastly and put in a new air freshener plug. Then you are all done. Repeat in all bedrooms the same.

Bathrooms - we all hate them but, we all need them to be clean. Empty the trash in your trash bag and put all towels in the laundry baskets to be washed. Then after you've cleaned it out, start the cleaning of it. Mirrors, sinks, toilets and tubs. I find it easy to clean my sinks, toliets and tubs with scrubbing bubbles - it does a great job every time and there is not much scrubbing needed. When it comes to my shower, I spray it and use the mop to mop it up when its finished bubbling - makes it easier on your lower back.  Please do not use your mop to clean the toliet - use a toliet brush and also put on your shopping list one of those little blue tablets (tidie bowl) that goes in the tank to help keep your toliet fresh while flushing and please do not forget to put some pinesol around the rim of the toliet base and mop with hot water.  I suggest getting one of those mops that wring itself out between dipping it in the water for more suds.   Use your sponge for the bathroom sink - it absorbs quicker than a rag and it polishes as it cleans too.  Making this room quick and easy to clean.  Lastly, mop on the way out of the bathroom.

I hope that these tips and suggestions help you to keep a fresh and clean house.  Just remember that it its too much for you, you can always call a service to come in once a week to help you with these basic chores.  When you walk in your door, you should feel relaxed, comfortable and it should be inviting.  If not, and you work a very busy schedule, then that is when should you call for help.  One time cleanings can vary from state to state and city alike, however, around $100.00 for good help is worth every penny of it.  Try looking for help in the classified ads of your local newspaper.  There are lots of people who need extra work.  Just be careful and check thoroughly references and make sure that they are bonded.

Cleaning your house is a reflection of oneself. It says a lot about you and your life and how you maintain your daily living. If your house is filthy - I mean dirt in the corners, stuff all around, trash not taken out, dishes still in dishwasher or in sink. Clothes need washing and dust flies just when you walk by. It says a lot about you as a person - you are not taking care of your personal business. You are not following up on things as you should, your health needs some work, your image - although you may think you are lovely - may not come across that way to others and you do not focus on the little "important" things as you should. Please take time to clean your house and if you are having difficulty in doing so, please contact a service and have them come by once a week to help out. Your life will be much easier to maintain and you will be glad you did it.

Lovely informative hub!

I agree that you feel so much more relaxed when your house is clean. That feeling of dread when someone announces they will be popping by in an hour and your house is a mess is such a horrible moment of panic.

Also, once things are clean, they are so much easier to keep clean!!
