Father's Business
63Going into business with my Father
Today with the budget being so tight and money scares for extras everyone is looking for a way to add a little more cash into their pockets. Some may need them for food, gas, repairs on the house, or bus fare. So the search for a sucessful business opportunity comes to mind to us all.
I have been doing some reading trying to renew my mind on the subject of God and my finances. What I have learned is that I have not been taught the right way on how to handle my business affairs. I am still handling them on my own. That is exactly why my finances are in need of help. So, with that I went into research mode. I realized that I needed to include God in my budget just as I do with all of my other responsiblities. How could I expect him to be in my "business" if I am not involved with "his business?"
Now, I know that my Father is a gentleman and he does not get involved with anything unless we ask him to get involved. When I finish my research I will ask him to allow me to get involved with his work. As I read more on the subject, I realized the specifics of what I am to do to join in with my Father in his business affairs. My first goal is to learn how to be a good steward.
Being a good steward, I thought meant you had to be managing something given to you. I took for granted and did not realize that it meant to be over my own life. As a bad steward I have tried to analyze what was going on when we get unexpected bills or debts that came int to my mail box. But, to no avail, the struggle was still on. I have tried to find ways to make more money. Even while trying to rob Peter to pay Paul.
I began realizing for a moment, that it is very important to find any way possible to involve my money with my Father's purpose. I realized that I needed to make that connection in anyway possible. Share with my Father's people in any way I can. If you don't know who his people are - research the scriptures and find out - specifically who they are (widows, orphans, and foreigners) and their needs. Begin giving of all you have to offer to help support our Father's goals with his people.
Remember and stop taking it for granted that EVERYTHING on this earth belongs to GOD. Our lives are not our own they belong to him. We have been given the privledge to be here to help our Father with his business in spreading the Gospel and helping by loving all people with an open heart. To give with love on your heart and mind before we even extend our hands. Give in private and secret to those in need.
We are stewards of the life he has so graciously given us and when we start to realize that from that point of view it makes more since on how to live our lives better. Plus, it makes it easier to see what needs to be done and what you can do to contribute to our Father's business. Practice on becoming a good steward over your life. Joining in with our Father and his business is the best move I've ever made.
